I am Jerwin Villanueva. Some calls me “janjan” for I was born on 24th of January 1992. I am the youngest with five siblings. I am only a little child when “drawings” caught my interest. When I was young I draw anywhere at any time, to be exact I draw on scratch papers, on the floor and even our door will do.
My first experience in drawing contest happened when I was in kinder, I used dye and paste and got my first award ever. In my grade school days in Dolores Elem. School, I always earn awards for joining poster making contests. I am grade six when I get to National Level in Press Conference Editorial Cartooning held in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. I studied Visual Arts while I am studying my academic subjects on Regional Pilot School for the Arts. I have learned so much from my Art Educator, from sketching to painting and sculpting. I am an active participant on contests even outside the school where I get to meet co-artists.
I was on my 2nd year in middle school and I was chosen as one of the five representatives of the Philippines for the event entitled “Colors of Southeast Asia Art exhibit that was held in Singapore. I graduated in High School and received Gloria Macapagal Award. I entered college in PUP and took up Advertising and Public Relations. From there I have learned photo manipulations, linear video editing, visual effects editing and 2D animation. My last year in college, that was when we created an animated short film entitled “Invisiboy”. After May 11, 2012 (graduation day), until now, I have become a freelance compositor and a sculptor.
